Osteoporosis, or the weakening of the bones, is a major health concern for menopausal and post-menopausal women. This disorder has been linked to brittle bones that may cause frequent fractures in older women even with the slightest accident.
Past the age of 51, women normally experience ovarian failure – also called post-menopause – that results in the drop of estrogen hormones. This, in turn, triggers a rapid change in the body’s bone resorption, which is a major consequence of osteoporosis.
