A neck sprain happens when the muscles around the neck are stretched or torn. Though the neck is made up of a strong band of ligaments, an injury, a sudden movement, or an impact may force ligaments to forcefully snap.
A head jerk during a sports or dance activity, whiplash from a car accident, or a sudden impact to the neck are just some of the incidents that may cause a neck sprain.
