Ritecare Urgent Care center is a modern and patient-friendly facility where a team of professional staff and physicians works together to ensure patients get the best possible treatment. In our previous article, we listed a wide range of services provided at RiteCare Walk In Medical Center in Hialeah. Today, we would like to focus on different types of diagnostic services available at our center. They include the following:
Also known as ECG (‘An electrocardiogram’), EKG is a test done in order to check the patient for any issues/problems with the electrical activity of the heart. The contractions of the heart muscle are caused by the organ’s natural electrical system. If there are any complications or irregularities in the activity of the heart, the EKG test is able to detect them. It can be performed as a precaution, just to make sure that everything is in order, or when the patient experiences any unusual symptoms in the chest area, such as pain or pressure. It is also performed in case of high blood pressure, or cholesterol level.
Vital signs diagnostics measure the body’s basic functions. That includes body temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure. Blood pressure is not typically considered a vital sign but also measured during the test. A Vital Signs test is able to detect early warning scores and therefore prevent adverse outcomes.
X-Radiation is a diagnostic procedure that allows the doctor to view the inside of the patient’s body without the need to make an incision. It is a popular test performed in many situations and conditions, including cancer, broken or fractured bones, digestive problems, etc. It is a standard procedure able to detect any abnormalities in the body.
PPD stands for purified protein derivative, which is the solution used for the test. The PPD test, also referred to as mantoux test, is a way to screening for tuberculosis (TB) and for tuberculosis diagnosis. PPD is injected under the patient’s skin. If the patient has antibodies to the TB bacteria, the skin reaction will appear. However, that does not mean that the person has the TB disease – further tests are done to confirm this1.
