Laser therapy uses light to penetrate through the skin into tissues. It has been used by physiotherapists since the ‘80s to treat a wide range of conditions. Even though it only penetrates a few millimeters, it can have a profound effect on tissue healing. Laser therapy for pain relief, has been shown to relieve the pain efficiently - partly because of its anti-inflammatory effect, partly because it heals damaged tissue.
