Facial plastic surgery involves the restructuring from the head to the neck. Under this procedure, the nose, ears, eyelids, lips, chin, cheekbones, and neckline are reshaped.
The most common reason for undergoing this surgical procedure is to improve a person’s appearance and remove facial scars following an injury, an accident or trauma, or if the patient suffers from a birth defect, such as a cleft lip. This surgery may also be undertaken to restore the normal functions of the parts of the face.
However, some forms of facial plastic surgery are also done to reverse the signs of aging – a cosmetic procedure. Other people also consider this procedure to make their face appear naturally proportioned if they have irregular features.
